Campaign of the Month: November 2020
Myriad Species of the Galaxy
And many others…
Many thousands of years ago, in the days of the Galactic Empire, there were hundreds of thousands of worlds, each with their own dominant sapient species. These species all lived in harmony with one another and with humanity. The Galactic Empire served all equally.
When the First Sorcerer arose to power, he declared that all but humanity were unfit to live. He began the Cleansing Wars in an effort to stamp out those species, and elevate humanity to its rightful place of power in the galaxy. Many of the myriad species that had once populated the galaxy were ruthlessly exterminated.
Many were those who were glad of the rebellion of the Galactic Overlords, who battled to destroy the First Sorcerer and end his reign of terror. The Cleansing Wars came to an end. But they left behind a multitude of shattered worlds and exterminated or displaced species.
Now, thousands of years after the death of the First Sorcerer and the rise of the Galactic Overlords, humanity remains more widespread than any other species across the galaxy. Those species that survived the Cleansing Wars intact evacuated their home worlds to live in colonies (or ghettoes) on other worlds, had lived on remote home worlds, or became nomadic. Many still harbor ill will towards humanity because of the Cleansing Wars.
